Advanced Bone Age

Delayed Bone Age

When the bone age is significantly younger than the chronological age (e.g., a 10-year-old with a bone age of 8). This is often seen in "late bloomers" (constitutional delay of growth and puberty). They grow slower initially but have a longer time frame to grow, often catching up to normal adult heights.

Adult Height Prediction (Bayley-Pinneau Method)

Using the child’s current height and their assessed bone age, doctors can estimate their final adult height using established tables, such as the Bayley-Pinneau tables. The principle is that at a specific bone age, a child has completed a specific percentage of their total growth.
